Randomness: Transcending scarcity, envy, and spendy, because, money matters!

Hey lovlies,

Nowadays with the rising of our cost of living in Malaysia, we should have more awareness on how we can spend and generate more income. I came across one article today by Ellen Powers, founder of Money Matters and i find it interesting enough to share her tips on how to spend wisely.

Here are 10 tips I want to share with you on how you might transcend scarcity, envy, and spendy too:

1. Ask yourself, “really?!” every time you open your wallet for wants vs. needs. Can
   the money you are reaching for do more good in your life elsewhere if you
   protected it?
2. Don’t live beyond your means. Learn to love living well below your means. It’s
   cooler. No one really cares if your kitchen tile is a custom imported hand cut
   stone from Italy.
3. Ignore the flashy spending others do. Create a financial goals timeline even on the
   back of a cocktail napkin for starters. If envy strikes, review your goals.
4. Log in to your retirement savings account and look at what’s in there, look at how
   much is going in from each paycheck, look at where it’s going and how those
   investments are doing, ask yourself if they are balanced and are serving you
   well or if they’re costing you and keeping you up at night. Don’t look at it
   every day. Just often enough.
5. Ask yourself can I be saving more and in more places? I actually save over 25% of
   my gross income annually. You may need to save more or less. Start with what
   you can afford and then up it every year. And save at work if you can, and
   beyond work if you can.
6. Keep a long-term perspective. Don’t give up too soon. And know that it’s never too
   soon or too late to start. I’ve seen my regular, consistent contributions build
   up over time and compound. Compounding is a magical thing, but the magic takes
   time, patience, and consistency.
7. Think about how you can protect your savings, your assets, and your income. That
   means insure yourself adequately. Lots of ways to do that.
8. Ask for help. Really ask and seek out help. 
9. Remember, no one will ever care about your money as much as you do. Make at least as much time for your own financial planning checkups, as you do your vacation planning.
10. Be well. It just costs less.

Randomness: Happy 8th years, Schatzie!!

Today eight years ago, 9 April 2007 ... 

We were on our very first Euro trip with a big group of ALG 8 clan.. I can still remember clearly..We were in the middle of Prague city walking around with all the others exploring the city... I was so nervous waiting for you to find the right time and words to ask me out for a fine dinner together.

We had our dinner date at one fine restaurant with a minimal conversation. You seems loss of words the whole time we were there...after the dinner date I wanted to join the others but you asked me to stop by KFC to have another conversation. You gave me a black crystal bracelet (I lost it already) and asked if you could be the one for me. I didn't gave any answer that night. Hahah! Sorry for that!

But since that day, we grew a lot together..you have always be there for me...supporting me with all my crazy goals and dreams (Master's, Engineer and now PruBSN Takaful Agent.. haha)...

Thank you for being such a darling husband, a crazy best friend and amazing daddy to Aidan Nuh :) I love you even on the days I don't like you very much - but today is a special day..let's celebrate the best of both of us. Let's grow even older together! Insya Allah!

Randomness: Pray for MH370

Hey lovelies,

Our country has come to a great shock with the sudden disappearing of Malaysian Airlines flight MH370. As we enter into day 4, the plane is still nowhere to be found. 

I used to ride the airplane during my study year, thus this news really hit me hard as it can possibly be me or anyone close to me. I find it insensitive towards the victims's family when people wrote stupid comments or conspiracy ideas regarding this matter. Please..please keep those comments to yourselves!! They suffer enough by not knowing where their loves one are right at this moment :(

I recently found out that the co-pilot is my junior in MRSM Taiping. Even though i didn't recognize him before, it really struck me...  I really do hope that we will continue to offer our prayers for the safety of the passengers and cabin crews of this missing plane. May Allah SWT bless them and their family.

Randomness : Lenka - The Show

Hi loveliesss,

Do you guys have any song that could bring all those memories back like it was yesterday? I totally have so many songs that could make me remember all those fun, happy or even sad memories back from those days...

I want to share one of my all time favourite song from Lenka. I discovered this song in 2009, where i just barely trying to survive in this crazy little world.  This song means a lot to me as its basically describe and sumarize my life at that particular moment.

I was doing my internship at Zurich, Switzerland. I was all alone by myself and im so scared even to think back at it again. At first, i am so lost and being the only hijabi there makes it even harder. I dont have friend and i was always the weird one :(  i keep regretting my decision to do my internship there. But i tried to keep my brave face all the time to make me feel stronger eventhough my heart felt like its going to pop anytime.

This song was my ringtone for the whole time i was there. I am so glad everytime i heard this song because i know there is someone on the other end for me to talk to. How sad is that, right? But as time goes on, i made my decision to just enjoy my time there. I made myself an entry card for public swimming pool, i joined the intern's activities every weekend and i tried to have fun with all new people surround me, without judging myself! I could not thank my "Hausmeister" , Marianne and Alice Bechtiger enough for their great hospitality!! I gained a lot from you guys!! Without them (the locals), i dont know how i could survived my life there...dramatic much? hahah...

And its so weird that i even remember that my friend Ayu came to visit me in Zurich and guess what? She was also using this song as her ringtone as well!! i guess she was the one who introduced to me to this song :))  And now, this song makes me remember you, Ayu! hahah :)

Frankfurt Christmas Market 2011

One of most exciting thing in Germany before Christmas is their very famous Christmas market.Christmas market is a street market where they open one month before Christmas. Yesterday was my first time walking and experiencing the infamous Frankfurt Christmas market. Ive been to a couple Christmas market before, and i definitely would say that there is nothing special about Frankfurt Christmas market in comparison to other city in Germany.They all sell almost the same stuff from light ornament, candle holder, wool sweaters & socks, ceramic traditional house etc. But there is one thing that i love about this Christmas market in particular...They sell a lot..i mean a LOT of food over there!! From crepes, nachos, sweet corn, pop corn, heisse maroni, honey, and a lot more... i felt like buying all those food..but thankfully i managed to stop myself.. (after i felt like throwing up eating all those food) lol..

I will visit Hanover next week..and hopefully that i have time to go to their Christmas market as well.. till then!!

Randomness: Freeze-Flashmob Frankfurt 1.10.2011

My first ever experience in joining Freeze - Flashmob in Frankfurt!! wauwee!!

Basically Freeze-Flashmob is an event planned by certain group of people.

They will choose one venue in a middle of the busy street and freeze for certain amount of time.

It happened on 1 October 2011 at 4 pm in the middle of Frankfurt shopping street (Hauptwache)

At first,I just planned to watch all those people freeze for 5 minutes....but then, when people start to freeze...i was caught in the middle.. it was so wierd if i move around...the situation force me to freeze :p

But it was quite fun even for a few minutes :) and i was even more excited when they uploaded the video on Youtube... You can see me 'freezing' in the video i linked below...(skip foward to 2:33min)

New Year 2011 y`all !!!

Its already 4th January 2011 !! beleive it or not, time just flew so quickly..
i`m already in my last semester of my studies, and probably my last year in germany..tsk..tsk...sad,isnt? Macam xpercaya dah 4 years im in Germany..Konstanz to be exact...Im sure that ill be missing all those bitter sweet memories that i have here:))

Finally..i remember that i have a blog to write :)

ive just finished my exams last week..exams ended at 1030am and my bus to Ravensburg(Yanie's palce) leaving at 1200pm. rushing huh? haha...i just cant stand even for one more sec to live in Konstanz or to be exact >>>my room ... ive been cramming in my room since the exams started... one freaking whole month!!!!! can you imagine that??

Anyway....a lot of things are going on around me recently...full of drama(not mine), excitement, heart breaking and of course happy - happy things as well...i forgot to tell that i have passed my electronic circuit exam!!! Alhamdulillah....i am extremely happy that i cant stop smiling even after a few days!!! Electronic circuit paper is extremely hard...plus all in German!!! this kind of paper always make me regret for choosing electrical engineering at the first place ;( ive failed this exam 2 times in a row...and if i fail one more time..im 'dead'!!! Thanks to ALLAH s.w.t, ive managed this time around ;) im sooo happy...

Last Saturday i went to Stuttgart to meet Cintaku .. yani, suhana and ayu were there as well!! the craving for KFC ended in Stuttgart as we managed to get our hand on those crunchy chicken ;)) Actually, there are few KFC in Germany serves halal chicken as their supplier is from Wiesenhof. We've been given a List of HALAL KFC in Germany and Stuttgart is one of them...Alhamdulillah...there's no need for us to wait until Summer to eat KFC in Malaysia..hihi

Then we overnight at Hajar's (without those boys,of course)... Slumber party time!!!!! i cant tell you the details ;) Thanks to Yani,Hajar,Ayu and Suhana for the lovely night!! im 24 already ..sad!

long updates!!

O..EMM..GEE!! this will be the longest post ever!! if you are already sick of me,discontinue reading this post..but if you are not,, go on..cost you nothing,except your time :))


being an on and off blogger is in my blood and flesh..hahaha.....one post every one or two months isnt that bad, oder??!! i'm actually in my exams week already..i dont know why, but this semester had made me to be like an extremely LAZY FAT CAT!! (why did i choose cat?i actually want to type b*#tc%, but i guess it is not very appropriate:p)

I have 3 more papers before my summer holiday...Before i wrote this post,i tried to open my notes..i flipped through my Ingineurakustik notes page by page..unfortunately,i have no idea what ive been learning throughout this semester..i couldn't concentrate either... i ended up in front of my laptop instead :))

A whole lot of things did happen to me recently...where should i begin?..hurm..let start with the fun part first...

i just move in!!!! or should i say move out? i dont know...either way, since the past 3 weeks , i have own a big coolest room ever!!! haha...xla cool sgt..but still, its so much bigger from my previous room,, and even bigger from my own room in KL!!! you guys have to come down here (KONSTANZ) if you want to find out how big it is!!! hahaha.... I have two other housemates (Bea&Sonja)..Bea is friendly and nice..but Sonja..i havent really talk with her ..i have met her a couple of time...She is a little bit "guyish" (is that really a word?) to me..He ..i mean she wear guy cloths and whatever...Anyway, both of them will be moving out soon..My future housemates will be from Poland and China...I am actually excited to meet them already.. Have i told you that my house owner have a really huge dog?My house is actually on a second floor and the owner live in a first floor..So everytime i want to get to my house, i will have to face her dog!!!! Scary huh? But after a few weeks, her dog had actually ignore me completely..i guess, it was because i didnt pay much att to him, so he hate me...hahahahah!!!!!

Actually a week before i move out, i have a chance to went to Greece with my friends...I seriously in love with GREECE!!!! no wonder so many people choose Greece as their honeymoon vacation spot!! it was totally worth every penny..eventhou we were on a tight budget, but we still having a lots of fun!!! I might (or might not ) create other post to just tell you guys about this trip :))



The most scariest moment that i always always always think about when i abroad has actually come to reality, which is losing my loved one. I hate it that i can not be there at that very momment! ive lost my beloved grandmother on 15 June 2010..I received a text message from my dad that my grandmother is already died and they were on the way to Melaka with her body to burry her there. My late grandmother, or we called her "nenek" was living with us in KL since...i dont know when..its like since forever!! Everytime before i flew back to Germany, she will cry..and said that if she still or if she not have a chance to meet me again...unfortunately we didnt get that chance anymore :'( i miss her so bad that it hurts... she will always be in my thoughts and prayers.




May Allah honor her and grant her peace...Amin.

For the past two days, Ive been busy with photography class that i choose to participate not because i want to...but i have to. Let me put it like this, I have to choose one subject that have nothing to do with my course whatsoever in order to complete my Bachelor... It can be anything as long as the subject have no electrical matter in it . So, i decided to give photography a try, since we only have to complete this subject only for three whole days ....

Idayu, Anwar and i were pretty excited on our first day...After a short introduction,we joined the Konstanz City Tour early in the morning. The tour was very informative....the amazing thing was we discovered a lot of undiscovered path of Konstanz city..Even after more than 3 years ive been here, ive never come across those street before..wierd...Konstanz is not that big, thou!! Still, we captured a lot of pictures later that day...but we thought it would not be enough ..so we decided to wait until sunset to capture more beautiful pictures... but then, sunset ke mana..photograph ke mana...ktorg terpesong --> menonton wayang until midnight!!! isk..isk..

FYI, Bitte lächeln, alte Stadt is the theme for the competition that we have to participate. This competition is actually open to all : Professional Photographer or even Hobby-Photographer..

Room hunting --> headache!!!

Ive been studying here in Konstanz,Germany for over 3 years now. Apart from 6 months my internship in Zürich, ive been living in the same apartment, same room but different housemate in Konstanz throughout the years. I know, some student didnt like to live in the same house for a long time...Maybe they want a change of air or more likely a change of surrounding..i dont know.. but for me, i like it here...even the room is a little bit small for the price i paid, it is pretty comfortable..Unfortunately, i was force to move out , the end of August. My extension contract was rejected..how sad is that!! I plan to move out early June, because i will busy with my exams in June and July..and of course August is my Malaysia Summer Holiday!! i could not sacrifice that!! Auf jeden Fall, i have to move out this June!!!!

i hate wasting my time searching for apartment..it was and will never be easy to find a decent room with affordable price here in Konstanz ;( Actually ive already got an offer for a really big room...25m²,10mins bicycle ride to my University,near Kaufland, near City Center... but there are 3 Problems :

1. There will be 4 People living in that house, and there will be 1 Chinese guy ;(
2. The House owner has a dog...even though the dog will never be anything near our house, he will be running around the garden where the entrance door is ;( i hate dogs!!
3. The rent is 300€ + 10€ internet...mahal x?...

Anyway, i will have another house appointment this coming Saturday for a cheaper house,14m² with a store room inside the room..how cool is that ;)) ..which is around 250€ ..But im not sure weather im gonna get this house or not...optimistic babe!!



Scholar dah masuk!! im making a list how to spent my scholar this time ;)) hahaha...But still, i still have to save some for my Greece trip!! Havent i told you yet that im going to Greece this Pfingsten holiday?!!! yeay!!!!

Suddenly i miss my brother,Azryl...sob..sob :(
